Still Alive...

Hey everybody, I just wanted to drop a quick line and let everyone know that I am still alive and kicking. And I am still hard at work on my fitness. Between work, personal life, and working out there hasn't been a while lot of time for other things. But hey, making sacrifices is part of it right?

My progress since the New Year had shown down as little when it comes to pounds lost. It seemed the harder I was working, the scale just wouldn't budge. And for several weeks I actually gained several pounds despite my efforts at eating right and working out. Talk about being discouraged.

Then this past week when I least expected it, I broke my plateau. I had been having the toughest time getting to 225 pounds. I would get to 226 and bounce back to 228. But finally, after a lot of hard work and wearing out the stationary bike and elliptical at our gym, I hit my "mini-goal" of 225.

Next stop is 220 pounds. Maybe when I hit 220 I will post a before picture along with a current progress picture for comparison purposes.

One thing I would like to mention is that even when my weight wasn't moving (lower), I could still feel my hard work paying off. Add my clothes have been continually getting looser.  And one thing I have had to remember was that weight is just a number. We oftentimes use that number to measure or progress in terms of success or failure when dieting.

Instead of looking solely at the value on the scale, remember to part attention to the fit of your wardrobe and take measurements of your self. That way even though the scale doesn't always cooperate; you will still have other criteria that you are measuring your progress by.
